Mood of the season
Autumn slows everything down. The light becomes softer, the colors deeper, and our rooms feel warmer again. To be honest with you: my favourite season. This season isn't about newness (I am big fan of not always going for new but enjoying what you have), or trends, but about rediscovering what you love at your home. About textures, materials, and things that feel like they've always been with us.
And according to the Pinterest Fall Trends Report 2025, I’m not the only one craving comfort and character. Beige is out, and mass production is on its way out too. Instead of grey corner sofas, we’re seeing vintage velvet couches and hand-painted ceramics taking center stage.
Pinterest’s data makes it clear: the search for personality in design is growing fast. People want furniture with history and soul - not something that comes with an instruction manual. Searches for vintage maximalism are up 260%, for hand-painted furniture up 135%. A movement after my own heart. I don’t want a home that look like everyone else’s - I want personality. A space that truly feels like mine. Pieces that express my taste, my story, my style. And of course, artificial flowers play a starring role. Few things give a room more character and soul than a statement floral design piece. And in this case: a long-lasting statement. In this article, I’m sharing what autumn 2025 means to me: warmth, character, and design with soul.
1. New warmth
Brown is back, we already saw that in fashion! Toffee, chocolate, terracotta, soft berry tones, and bronze create a sense of comfort and depth. Plus: it looks very chic. Colors that resemble an afternoon coffee. At Silkhaus, I translated this mood into bouquets like The Cappuccino , The Blush , and The Plum - color worlds that create atmosphere.
2. Layers full of life
Layering is making its mark, and not just in the wardrobe. Layering makes everything interesting. Layering adds depth, contrast. But how to do it at home? The first rule of making you home, is there are no rules. Just like how I experiment with my outfits, I experiment with my interior. Sometimes a little detail like a new pillow on the sofa can give a finishing touch. But try this: Tablecloths over wood, glass next to leather, a soft cloth under candlelight. Rooms appear vibrant when contrasts speak to each other.

3. Material mix
Just like with layering, playing with materials can add a lot of interest to a look, and a room. Shearling, mohair, jute, velvet – fabrics with soul that create warmth through touch. Ceramics, cushions with irregular weaves – the real, not the perfect. I personally like soft materials in combination with 'colder' ones. Think wool with leather. Velvet with marble.

4. A touch of glamour
A little glamour is always welcome. Marble, brass, soft curves – inspired by the elegance of past decades. Not loud, but deliberately placed: a shiny vase or lamp next to rough ceramics. Metal coffeetable on a thick, wool carpet. A red velvet pillow on a leather sofa. When it comes to flowers, to me personally the Anthurium is the glamour diva among flowers. Two or three stems on a vase - instant retro glamour vibes.

5. The table as the heart of the house
The dining table returns - not that we ever said goodbye, but it is the centerpiece for life. And how nice to tablescape your own table like a piece of art. This is how I imagine a cosy evening: invite beloved ones, set the table with soft fabrics, subdued lighting, bouquets that linger. Cook my favorite dinner. Have a glas of wine. Lit the candles. This is where the feeling of home arises: small rituals, slow evenings, shared time.

Let's not chase trends.
What I like about autumn 2025 trends: it's not about trends. I like to use what I already have and love, I like to mix and match and I like to choose new items with conciousness: colors that ground me, materials that last, shapes that bring calm. Because the most modern thing you can do today is to keep what you love – and let it stay.
